Theodore Roosevelt National Park

When you ask what there is to do in the area, outdoor options abound, and the state’s only National Park is a really good place to start. There are two units to explore, a smaller one near Medora.

Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site/Fort Buford State Historic Site

There are two forts near Williston, but only one of them was ever a military base. Fort Union, now Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site, was originally built in the early 19th century as acenter for the fur trade.
